Common browser errors with Narrogin Race Week Site

  1. Pop-up Menu fails to load - just a list of text links.
    1. Is your browser Javascript enabled?
    2. This is a known contention problem with Opera 5.01s Javascript engine, hopefully addressed in the next release
    3. In IE if no menu appears and the message 'Done but with errors' is on the status line it is probably because the .js file failed to fully download and a corrupted version is in IEs cache. Go to Tools | Internet Options | General and select Delete Files. This will empty the cache. Refresh the page and the menu will appear.
  2. Microsoft Agent Peedy will not appear to speak the pages.
    1. Microsoft Agent is driven by Microsoft ActiveX® technology. IE needs to be V4 or greater.
    2. Netscape will not normally be able to run the agent although it may be possible with the NCompass plugin. Alternatively try:- http://www.yippee.net/html/win/internet/title990.htm
    3. Opera, sorry just not available at this time.
  3. Microsoft Agent makes no sound.
    1. Speakers turned on?
    2. Do you have another application either running or loaded that produces audio output?
  4. No 'days until Rev Heads' count down timer.
    1. Known issue with Netscape and Opera.
  5. No visit counter in Opera
