Joan has been involved in 2 community projects. Sponsored by the Town, artists are invited to come and show interested persons how to create an artistic asset for the town.

In 1996, Chris Williamson came and showed a group of about 12, how to design and manufacture these wonderful banners. They are sewn on your household sewing machine, the designs are sewn together then the background is cut away giving a light through a stained glass window effect.
Just finished - 14 banners on show for the first time
The designs were many and varied, all colourful, Joans was based on the angle car parking on the main street of the central business district. These banners now decorate our community events such as the Spring Festival and other public happenings.
