We've started this project probably for the same reasons everybody
else starts tracing their family trees;
i) our own interest,
ii) to document peoples' knowledge before it becomes lost,
iii) to provide a resource for the youngest generation to see from whence they
came.
Here is a photograph of most
of the family, assembled at
Debbie's
wedding, along with a first drafting of the family tree.
We initially superseded this with dynamically generated pages that allow the
whole known tree, of both the Crosbys and the Clarks, to be displayed and the
various branches to be explored. This was done using
ftree software by Simon Ward. When we moved to a Linux based webserver this required some tweaking. Thanks Simon for your help.
The tree can be accessed by
following this link.
To use the software, move in and out using the Zoom In / Zoom Out icons at the
top of the page.
Move the focus point of the tree by clicking on a person and zooming in and
out from their record.
When you reach just the person, if they have page or pages dedicated to them,
there will be a link.
If you move to a person you can follow another branch and expose previously not
displayed branches.
Unfortunately we had to remove public access to this data due to the high bandwidth usage it generated. If you think you are related to us and would like to see the data, please contact me using one of the feedback forms on the site.
We are now moving to using
PHPGEDView as our online family genealogy project software.
