Joan's first experience of
dogs also started in the 1940's when about 8yrs old her father brought home
a stray. Judy was a Scottie - a rather dour but loving breed. Later at the age
of 14 Joan was given another Scottie for her birthday - a puppy about 8 months
old who she called Trixie. She was Joan's companion throughout her teenage years.
She was very settled old lady when Mel and Joan
married so stayed with Joan's mum
and dad.
