River Soar @ Ratcliffe Lock from A453
"Phil took us to see some of the floods on the way back. Radcliffe was a mass of flood water where we moored was well under water.

The towpath back to the stile was only just visible.
The ditch on the left and the fields on the right were all under water. The
lock balance beams were only just visible. At Kegworth you could see the balance
beams and the tops of the ladders. Water was flowing around the gates on to
the banks. The sights were really impressive. Finally we went down to Sawley
to look at the weir. It was amazing and the water was moving at a heck of a
pace."
