The local road passes through a section of country side that has a string of lakes that are connected together when it floods. In the year of 2000, Western Australia experienced what is known as 100 year flooding. As can be seen by the below photo, the water has filled the low land country area either side of the
road and for over a kilometre. This section of road also has a bridge in the middle of the flooded section that I took photos from, showing the road in either direction. This large body of water is more amazing in the fact that it is not ponding, but on the move at quite a good rate of movement from the left of the photo to the right of the photo. The water is flowing across the road to a depth of 200 to 300mm for the entire length.
